In this post, I’ll walk you through how you can effortlessly embed Google Drive files such as - Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more; into your monday.com dashboard using our tool. Let’s dive in and see how it works.
Step -1 : Navigate to monday.com marketplace and search for the app ‘Drive Picker & Embed’. You will come across the following app. Install it and get started. Don’t worry, you automatically get included in a 14 day free trial for the app and do not need to pay or enter payment details to try out the app.
Step - 2: Once the app has been successfully installed, you may be asked to add it to a workspace and a board. You can continue these steps. Alternatively, you can directly navigate to a dashboard on your monday workspace.
Step - 3: After you have opened your dashboard, click on the add widget button on the top left and select Apps option from the dropdown.
Step - 4: The above step will open a popup where you can search for the app Drive Picker & Embed.
Step - 5: Select Add widget and your widget will be added to the dashboard.
Now, Let’s see how you can add the files.
There are two options for adding a file. You can either manually paste a link or, more conveniently, you can pick files from your Google drive using the the Drive File picker interface. Before that, we need to do a very important step.
Step - 6: If you want the embedded file to be visible to your whole team, please go to customize/settings, and click save publicly checkbox. It will make the embedded file visible for everyone. Skip this step if you want the file to be visible only to you.

Step - 7 : To embed the file with link, just copy the link from your google drive file and paste it in the given box.

Step - 8: On the widget, click on the Pick File option
You will be prompted to Login with your Google account. Follow the steps shown on screen and give necessary permissions.
Step - 9: You can now select the files from Google drive File picker. Once you have selected the files, press the select button. Your files will be embedded.
